short::seasons will accept submissions from any filmmaker who currently or used to live in the Canberra Region. The films can be a narrative of any genre,music video or documentary, and preferably no longer than 15 minutes. There is no age limit on the films, they can be made last week, or years ago.

Please remember that short::seasons is not a competition, so there is no prize.  It is a showcase of the great work being done by filmmakers and animators from the Canberra Region.Films are viewed by an independent panel who select the best combination of films for each festival programme. 


SELECTION CRITERIA
The films are selected for each festival to complement each other, so they are selected as a whole programme. If your film is not selected it is most likely this reason. In this case, your film will be considered for a later season's festival.

There are a number of elements that will increase the likelihood of selection:

1. Films that have a strong story
2. Premiere status.  Preference will be given to films that have not been screened before
3. Only one film per filmmaking team will be selected per festival.  The same producer with a different team for example might get two films in, but if the team is exactly the same, we will only include one per season
4. Films need to have a basic level of technical quality (especially sound)
   
5. A spread of genres will be selected for the season

Films are selected by the Festival Team and no correspondence will be entered into.

SCREENING FORMATS
If your film is selected for inclusion in the festival, we will contact you for a screening quality copy of your film. High Res Quicktime file is our preferred format (H.264 or Pro Res codec)
