short::seasons Project Funding
Get $1,000 to make your short film!

The Autumn round has closed

The Project Film

short::seasons is pleased to announce the short::seasons Project Film for autumn 2013. This is an opportunity for Canberran filmmakers to get a bit of cash, use of some equipment and heaps of support from the short::seasons team to make a film for the next short::seasons film festival.

You have to submit a script you have written.  The short::seasons team will then pick the most suitable idea from the bunch and we will help you make it happen.  One film will be chosen per season (two per year).

Requirements

  • You must live in Canberra or the Canberra Region
  • You must be the writer of the script
  • Your script should be for a film under 10 minutes in duration.
  • Your story must be set in Canberra
  • Your story must be set in the season of the festival it will be made for (autumn this time)
  • You must deliver the completed film by 5pm Friday 24th May 2013

The references to ‘Canberra’ and ‘Autumn’ can be in any form you like – characters can mention it, you can use Canberra icons in backgrounds, your theme could be particularly Canberran – whatever you like.

What you Get

You will be provided with a budget of $1,000 cash to go towards the production of the film.  You will also be given free equipment hire from the ScreenACT Equipment Library for use on the film.  The short::seasons team will help you as much or as little as you require, helping you source crew and additional equipment as necessary.

Ownership and What You Give Us

Ownership of the film remains with the winner of the funding, however short::seasons/ ScreenACT will be granted licence to screen the film at the short::seasons film festivals, use images and/or sections of the film for promotional purposes.  short::seasons would also be granted licence to use the film in a saleable compilation of short::seasons project films in the future. You will be required to put a short::seasons & ScreenACT logo on the tail of the credits to the film - this will be supplied to you.  After the premiere of the film at a short::seasons festival, you will be free to enter the film into any other festivals you wish and any awards (including monetary awards) would be yours.

You would assure short::seasons that you have obtained all the relevant clearances and licenses for the actors, music and all other elements used in your contribution.  Any claims made by any person or entity against the film are entirely the responsibility of the winner of the funding.
